Chery's Exeed brand has regained the title of leader in the premium segment of the Russian car market in February. According to the analytical agency "Autostat," its dealers sold 1442 new cars in Russia last month.
Thus, the Tank brand, which became the sales leader among premium brands in January, once again dropped to second place in February with a sales volume of 1402 units. In the past month, Lixiang took third place, with its crossovers and SUVs selling 692 units.
The fourth and fifth positions were taken by the German brands BMW and Mercedes-Benz, whose cars have been imported to Russia exclusively through parallel imports for the third year. In February, according to analysts, 593 new BMWs and 430 new Mercedes-Benz cars were registered.
Overall, in February, a total of 6887 new premium brand cars were sold in Russia - half the number compared to February of the previous year. The market share of such cars in the last month of winter also decreased from 13.1% to 8.8% year-on-year.
It is worth noting that at the end of February, the Exeed brand introduced the compact crossover LX in a new Urban configuration to the Russian market. With a recommended retail price of 3,440,000 rubles, it became the second most expensive after the base Business model and the fifth in the overall model lineup.
Exeed also recently announced the official start of sales of premium electric vehicles and hybrids, Exlantix, in Russia. The brand's first model - the all-wheel-drive hybrid crossover ET - will be available in Exeed dealerships as early as April.
